Operativa Arte Contemporanea è lieta di presentare The domestic promised land: the desert, the net and the bones, primo progetto personale dei Parasite 2.0 negli spazi della galleria. Il collettivo milanese, dopo aver vinto il prestigioso premio YAP 2016 e realizzato al MAXXI un’articolatissima installazione ambientale, torna a Roma con una nuovo lavoro che guardando criticamente al concetto di abitazione, ci costringe a ripensare ai processi del vivere contemporaneo. Il progetto guarda a quei momenti in cui l’uomo è stato costretto a modificare le modalità con cui dava forma al suo habitat per la sopravvivenza: recentemente in Ucraina e in Olanda sono stati riscoperti i resti di quelle che hanno definito “Mammoth Bones House”, gruppi di abitazioni di forma circolare costruite con ossa di mammut. I Parasite 2.0 si confrontano con il concetto di “rifugio” nell’era contemporanea: pensare ad una nuova configurazione per questo “manufatto primordiale” è come raccontare ed immaginare una nuova fase di antropizzazione. La casa si trasforma in scenografia, finzione in opposizione alla natura, capace di estraniarci e portarci all’interno di un mondo altro; questa può essere ancora considerata, da un lato, come spazio privato nell’era dell’economia della condivisione e, dall’altro, come l’ultimo spazio criptato esistente? Come l’ultimo rifugio in un deserto ascetico, un luogo in cui disconnettersi dalla società, dove i nostri desideri più profondi possano avverarsi?

I Parasite 2.0 nascono nel 2010 da un’idea di Stefano Colombo, Eugenio Cosentino e Luca Marullo. La loro ricerca si focalizza sullo studio dell’habitat umano, analizzato con un metodo lontano da pratiche convenzionali, ottenendo un vero e proprio ibrido tra architettura, arte, design e scienze sociali. Sono i vincitori dello YAP MAXXI 2016. Tra le varie esposizioni: Atelier Clerici Milano (2016), Aformal Academy UABB Shenzhen (2016), Biennale di Venezia (2012 e 2014), Anuala Timiso¬reana de Arhitectura (2014). Operativa Arte Contemporanea welcomes you to The domestic promised land: the desert, the net and the bones, the first solo project by Parasite 2.0 conceived for gallery spaces. The collective from Milan is back in Rome after the winning experience at YAP 2016: thanks to this eminent prize, last spring the collective realized in the MAXXI coutryard a great ambiental installation. Now they’re going to present a new work that looks critically at the concept of home, imposing us to rethink about the processes of contemporary life. This project talks about the moments in which man was obliged to change modalities that he used to give form to his habitat: in recent years, there have been discoveries in Ukraine and Holland of remains of what has been defined a “Mammoth Bones House”, clusters of circular-formed habitations, which had been built during that period using bones of Mammoths. Parasite 2.0 approach to the concept of “shelter” in contemporary age: giving a shape to a new vision of this “primary artifact” is like narrating and imagining a new phase of anthropization, a new civility and civilization. The house is trasformed in a set design, a fiction in opposition to nature, able to bring us in another world; can the house still be considered, on one hand, as a private space in the era of the “sharing economy”, and on the other, as the last existing encrypted space? — as the last shelter in an ascetic desert, a place in which to disconnect from society, where our deepest desires can come true?

Parasite2.0 was founded in 2010 by Stefano Colombo, Eugenio Cosentino and Luca Marullo. They investigate the status of human habitat from the margins of conventional practice, acting within a hybrid of architecture, art, design and social sciences. They are the 2016 winners of YAP MAXXI, and their work has been exhibited at Atelier Clerici 2016 in Milan, at Aformal Academy in the 2015 UABB in Shenzhen, at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2012 and 2014 and at the Anuala Timisoreana de Arhitectura 2014. They have recently published the book Primitive Future Office for plug-in books.
